Bernhard's short-lived Upper Rhine prize

Bernhard of Saxe-Weimar entered Breisach as the celebrated conqueror of one of the Rhine's strongest fortresses in 1638. His death the following year left the city and his Alsatian conquests to be absorbed into French power politics.
