Use the measurements for questions, not as a verdict

Waterlogged shows a current reading, its measured movement over the last 72 hours, and where that sits against a level we calculate ourselves from a published reference pair and a stated draught assumption. That gap is arithmetic about today. It is not a prediction of the water on your sailing date, not a forecast, and not a prediction, guarantee or representation of what any operator will decide.

This site does not publish outcome percentages, seasonal odds, coloured risk calls or estimates of what you may be owed. It did once; those surfaces were withdrawn because we could not stand behind them for a consumer decision. The engine that produced them still runs internally as research and publishes nothing.

Do not use Waterlogged as the sole reason to book, cancel, rebook, change insurance, make a claim or incur expense. Check the operator's current written communication and the documents attached to your own booking. Seek a qualified professional where a decision could cause material loss. Never use this service to navigate or move a vessel.

Operator and consumer-law material

Operator-policy panels are Waterlogged's dated commentary on the public documents identified beside them. They are not the operator's advice, a contract interpretation, or a statement of entitlement. Versions and regional terms differ and sources can be incomplete or withdrawn. Historical examples show only what was reported in a particular event; they do not establish a promise, normal practice or likely result for another passenger.

Waterlogged does not calculate a refund, credit, hotel entitlement or insurance payout, and publishes no worked money example. Regional consumer-law notes are research pointers to verify, not legal conclusions, and nothing here decides eligibility, claim value, tax, currency conversion, legal rights or the best course of action.

A Waterlogged scenario is not an operator cancellation notice. If a passenger cancels before the operator acts, the ordinary passenger-cancellation scale may apply. Operators may use a replacement vessel, coach, hotel, port or itinerary without creating an automatic refund. The applicable remedy can depend on booking market, contract version, cause, timing, operator action and mandatory law; obtain the operator's proposal in writing before making a decision.

Waterlogged River Cruise Watch is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or operated by any cruise line, insurer, water authority or data portal named on the site. Names and trademarks identify the relevant sailing, operator or source and remain the property of their owners. No insurance product, quote, referral or affiliate link is offered in this release.

River-data sources and credits

• PEGELONLINE / WSV. Live German gauge observations under DL-DE-Zero 2.0. The licence does not require attribution; Waterlogged nevertheless displays this provenance credit: Data source: Wasserstraßen- und Schifffahrtsverwaltung des Bundes (WSV), PEGELONLINE. WSV describes its historical downloadable readings as unverified raw data and disclaims their correctness, accuracy, currency, reliability and completeness.
• Bavarian GKD. Long-history series under CC BY 4.0. Required credit: Datenquelle: Bayerisches Landesamt für Umwelt, www.lfu.bayern.de. Waterlogged transformations and any errors in them are ours; no endorsement is implied. See the GKD terms.
• BfG — link-only, and a correction to our own record. Waterlogged previously described the Bundesanstalt für Gewässerkunde's official 14-day and six-week water-level forecasts as being available under CC BY 4.0. That was wrong, and we are correcting it here. The German open-data catalogue metadata does assert CC BY 4.0, but BfG's own delivery channels carry no unambiguous grant and BfG's properties can be read to require written consent for commercial reuse. The honest position is that the reuse basis is not established. Accordingly: no BfG forecast value is displayed on this site, none is converted into a daily figure, a ship threshold, a percentage or a score, and none feeds any number you see here. We link to BfG's own forecast pages instead, and BfG neither endorses nor is associated with Waterlogged.
• hydroinfo.hu / OVF and viadonau / DoRIS. No written reuse permission is held for either archive. Waterlogged publishes no Hungarian or Austrian time series, day-of-year median, selected low year or fitted parameter — display and derivation are both withheld — and links to those services instead. Current Budapest and Kienstock readings reach this site only through EuRIS, under EuRIS's own terms.
• EuRIS Hydrometeo v3. Pilot source for Budapest and Kienstock. Required credit: API/Service Hydrometeo v3 incorporated from EuRIS (eurisportal.eu). EuRIS identifies OVF and viadonau as originators. Direct OVF and DoRIS adapters remain disabled pending written commercial-reuse permission.

Every displayed observation should carry its measurement time and source state. A stale or missing required input withdraws the affected route assessment rather than silently substituting another gauge. Historical source files are preserved before parsing; derived values are labelled as Waterlogged processing.

Availability, corrections and legal terms

Data feeds and this pilot can be unavailable, delayed or wrong. Report a suspected error before relying on it; source, model and operator-document corrections may change a report without changing the underlying river. The contractual warranty and liability provisions are in the Terms of Use, what a purchase can be refunded for is in the Refund Policy, and personal-data handling is in the Privacy Notice. Mandatory consumer rights are not excluded.

Nothing on this site is for sale. The paid report was withdrawn with the surfaces it was built around. Existing purchases are honoured: the entitlement is a cookie on one browser, so clearing cookies or changing device loses it — recover a purchase with the retrieval code from your receipt, or read the refund policy.

Links to authority and operator pages are not endorsements, and the publishers of those pages control their own content, values and terms. Where we hold no reuse permission we link and copy nothing — see the source matrix for the full render, link-only, permission-pending and excluded lists.

Launch blocker: the legal operator name, mailing address and customer/privacy contacts are not configured. This development build must not take payment or be represented as ready for public sale. Pilot reviewers should contact the person who provided access.
