The rule behind this service
You are not paying for information about the river — that remains free for everyone, always. You are paying for a daily update which includes a river companion on your sailing right to your inbox.
What you receive, for one sailing
- One report each morning, about 08:15 in the time of the route — from your first scheduled morning after you confirm your address, through the morning after you leave the ship.
- This morning's reading at the gauge that governs your stretch: the time it was observed, who published it, and what has changed from the previous day.
- A comparison of the gauge reading to the water level your ship needs — from the authority's published reference, or Waterlogged's own historical validation, or a note why it is not available.
- The ship's artistic drawing that shows the published draught of the hull.
- Curated notes on the river reaches that you travel — a river cruise should include the discovery of the river itself. Waterlogged provides a daily history, landmarks and activities that have shaped the river you will travel. This writing is not available on the free site.
- The route ahead: the remaining days, the water on each stretch, and the Open-Meteo weather forecast for each port.
- The Full Report page for this sailing, to print or keep open.
- The Sailing Water Record at the end: the journey chart, the table of the mornings, the complete gauge series, the credits and the seal. You keep it.

Is this a prediction?
No. We reprint this morning's measured water, say what has changed from the previous day, and print the authority's own forecast product where it exists, stamped as theirs. History stops at today: no Waterlogged stage, no probability, no sailing outcome. Your cruise line decides what your ship does.
When does the first report arrive?
After you open the confirmation link we email you. If that morning's 08:15 has already gone, your first report is dispatched when you confirm. Mornings before you confirm are not sent later.
What if the data fails one morning?
That morning is recorded as a gap briefing and dispatched at most once, saying what could not be concluded. One or two are the product working. If three or more briefings in any seven consecutive scheduled mornings are gap briefings, the briefings still come until the end of your cruise.
Will you tell me if my cruise is cancelled?
No. Your cruise line decides what your ship does. A date missing from our page is a coverage gap, not a cancellation notice.
What if I chose the wrong sailing?
Tell us before the first report is dispatched. We can move it once to another eligible sailing.
